FORUM 2

This week, we looked at Visual History. We considered how different languages and cultures produced different ways to represent their texts visually, as well as how those different logics still ultimately arrived at similar conclusions.

For Discussion Forum 2, begin by doing some further reading about Cave Paintings, Ideograms, and Alphabets. Then, state whether or not you believe we can we learn anything about Visual Communication today by studying history. Are the ways we communicate today so fundamentally different that history does not have anything to teach us? Or if history can teach us something what do you think that is? Use specific examples from the lecture or from your own research into visual history to support your argument.
